To be responsible for overseeing web marketing channels, collaborating with internal departments on web projects, supporting ecommerce operations, developing relationships with agencies/vendors and growing e-commerce business through channels managed.
Objective: To help promote the Taste of Music to the surrounding region while learning skills related to marketing, advertising and promotion.
Hours: 15-20 hours per week. Typically 3 days per week. Schedule negotiable.
Compensation: Internship position is not compensated, but any required or necessary paperwork will be completed to provide college credits.
Supervisor: Marketing Director
• Students interested in the field of marketing/communications/theatre
• Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above
• Beneficial, but not necessary: some web design/graphic design background
• Two letters of recommendation
• One-page essay about what student hopes to gain from internship
• Submission of requirements for internship completion/credit
• Interview with Executive Director & Marketing Director
1. Create weekly emails and press releases promoting web site and events.
2. Website/Social Media maintenance.
3. Research marketing trends.
4. Document new processes and procedures.
5. Online merchandising.
6. Execute tactical marketing projects and assignments.
7. Provide support for other areas of marketing as needed.
8. Creating sales banners and graphics.
9. Prepare progress reports/status updates monthly/weekly for assigned tasks and initiatives.
10. Contribute to strategic planning sessions.
11. Research, write & edit copy for: landing pages, product descriptions, SEO blocks, blogs, articles & case studies in consistent writing style.
12. Perform link building for SEO.
13. Contribute to promotions and email planning sessions.
14. Suggest website features and enhancements to leadership.
15. Contribute to the development of a company social media plan and corporate guidelines.
16. Coordinate online partnerships and advertising opportunities.
17. Work with Marketing, Product Management and Sales to develop and execute highly effective direct response programs to significantly increase inbound lead flow and pipeline generation.
18. Evaluate tools and technologies that will assist in management of emerging media channels.
To be responsible for generating and managing new client relationships and sales with advertisers primarily in web advertising and event sponsorships.
Key duties/responsibilities of Advertising sales manager:

Coordinate review meetings and follow up tasks while managing the completion of the process. 4. Treats colleagues and partners with respect: considers and responds appropriately to the needs, feelings, and capabilities of different people. 6. Develop creative sponsorship packages that are innovative and effective for clients who want marketing-needs driven programs outside of banners and buttons; facilitate these by working closely with channel managers. 7. Flexible and open to change and new information; adapts behavior and work methods accordingly. 8. Prospect and develop key advertising relationships with companies directly and through ad agencies using direct telephone and in-person sales approaches 9. Develop new and incremental business by seeking out new clients, determining needs, and proposing appropriate programs to them.. 10. Meet or exceed revenue goals for advertising. 11. Determine client’s business model, budgets, success metrics and decision-making process to develop the most effective advertising options and pricing 12. Maintain an ongoing communication to assure execution of contract deliverables and maximum program optimization. 13. Manage the sales territory for existing business (renewals, etc.) by keeping close contact with agency and maintaining excellent client relationships. 14. Employ aggressive sales techniques to professionally move the sales process towards defined objectives in a timely manner. 15. Close new and renewal business at a rate equal to or above internal goals.
Requirements:
· MUST be self motivated
· Organizational skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· Preferred experience in Graphic Design but not required
· Minimum 2 years experience in Sales & Advertising
